There’s a certain confidence that comes from knowing you are with riding in a raft with a trusted professional guide, helping you navigate the challenges that await downstream. Yet, there might be an even greater pleasure when that control and decision-making suddenly falls squarely on your shoulders (Never mind the professional guide still there pointing you where to go).

Enter the world of duckies. Ducky trips, or inflatable kayaks, are an excellent introduction into the sport of whitewater kayaking. Experience every stroke and splash as you work your way through Class I-III rapids set within the backdrop of the beautiful New River Gorge. Relax in the pools and paddle hard in the whitewater; this trip is a blast.

We had an amazing time on our Lower Gauley rafting adventure thanks to our guide Kimberly and the rest of the staff. Kim’s incredible knowledge and experience made our trip unforgettable. We will definitely be back to raft the Upper Gauley!
